Founder - Stuart Brown

Mr. Brown is a Managing Director and Founder of HamptonRock Partners and brings over seventeen years of private equity and Wall Street experience to the firm. Prior to HamptonRock, Mr. Brown was a Partner with BV Investment Partners, a middle-market private equity firm, where he was a member of the investment committee and was responsible for sourcing, executing and managing investment opportunities across multiple industries.

Prior to BV, Mr. Brown spent fourteen years providing merger and acquisition advisory services to both public and private clients across a variety of situations and industries. Mr. Brown was Managing Director and head of energy investment banking for a Dallas-based advisory firm where he executed transactions in energy and industrial services, distribution and technology. Mr. Brown worked as a member of the industrials global investment banking team with Citigroup in New York and began his investment banking career with Stephens Inc.

Over the course of Mr. Brown’s career, he has specialized in advising founder and family owned businesses as they seek a strategic or financial partner, implement acquisition strategies or raise capital for strategic business growth. He has been a frequent speaker on middle-market M&A trends. Mr. Brown received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the South at Sewanee and his MBA from Wake Forest University.
